Spear length to the seal = H3 − bottom clearance of the system, as in the spear length calculator. Dimensions from the assembly drawings in the Productfiches. The drawing for your order is binding.
Lists by brewery or brand often contradict each other, because the spear belongs to the keg fleet, not to the brand. A look at the keg and a calliper is quicker and more reliable.
Flat, round flange of Ø 74.5 mm, one valve. A safety triangle on the body.
Flat flange with three lobes, Ø 70 mm. Identical to type A inside, but not outside. That is why it needs a different keg coupler.
Round flange of Ø 74.5 mm, the same size as type A. Here the shape decides, not the calliper.
No flange resting on top; the spear sits in the keg neck. Body Ø 48.1 mm, small opening Ø 19.3 mm.
The body sits in the keg neck and is flush with it. Ø 53.7 mm across the locking lugs, opening Ø 38.9 mm. Threaded, or threadless with a retaining ring.
Empirical values from more than a thousand assignments in thirteen countries, compiled by our European partner Keg Exchange. They do not replace a check on the keg: the same brand can carry different spears depending on keg size, year of manufacture, country and beer.
