Type D keg spear Type D Sankey spear (US Sankey)
Keg spear for the D system (US Sankey) in the threadless standard version: the body sits inside the keg neck and is held by a retaining ring. Two valves; when opened, the down tube moves down by the valve stroke. Set bottom clearance 14 mm. A version with a 2″–14 TPI BS 84 external thread is also available.

The D spear comes in two versions. The keg neck decides which one fits.
Threadless with retaining ring
The body sits in the threadless keg neck and is held there by a retaining ring. This is the standard version of the D spear.
Threaded 2″–14 TPI BS 84
For kegs with a threaded neck. The spear is screwed in, tightened to 80 ± 5 Nm and, on empty returned kegs, retightened to 60 Nm before refilling.

What is the type D spear used for?
For kegs with the D system, also called US Sankey. Dispensing is done with a keg coupler for the D system.
Is type D also available with a thread?
Yes. The standard version is threadless and held in the keg by a retaining ring. A version with a 2″–14 TPI BS 84 external thread is also available.
Which keg coupler fits type D?
A keg coupler for the D system. AOBAOSI supplies it with and without a valve, tested under DGUV Test NV 24814, SK 448-003.
Is the type D spear SK tested?
Yes, as a stainless steel Sankey spear type S/D tested to DIN 6650-5 under DGUV Test NV 24813, SK mark SK 448-002, valid until 07.07.2029. The SK number is on the inner side of the housing.
